5/10/08 - Trail Nut - 10k and Half Marathon at Bedford's Falling Creek Park

Congratulations to all the runners that participated in the first Mountain Junkies LLC Trail Nut races! Thank you for coming out and making the first year a success.

Other than some slick trail conditions, Saturday was an ideal spring day for a race. If we could have only postponed the race until noon. By the time I did a final sweep of the course the trails had dried up to an almost slip-n-slide free loop (thank you again Laura Hamm for helping to clean up the course. You were a big help.)

There were numerous animal sitings at the park on Saturday; 4 turtles, 5 ground hogs, 1 skunk, deer, a couple of red headed woodpeckers, and a handful of black snakes.
